It has been a season full of excitement so far for Nicholas d’Orlando and his J3 Competition team as they will make their way back to the bright lights of the Las Vegas strip this weekend to take part in the 20th edition of SuperSunday, the biggest day in North American karting, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. This event will have over 450 drivers competing from around the world.

Just a few short weeks ago, Nicholas and J3 were in Las Vegas for the Rotax US Open finale at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, coming away with finishes they were not looking for.  The 13-year old rookie, from Hartsdale, NY continued to look for more speed each day and look to move only forward after a disappointing 24th qualifying effort, but the history of Lady Luck in Las Vegas for the d’Orlando Racing squad didn’t seem to change at all.  As he finished the week inside the top-20, d’Orlando now looks to return to Sin City this weekend in hopes this time his luck will change as he will face off against the best X-30 Junior drivers from around the world at the 20th Annual SuperKarts USA Super Nationals aka: SuperNats!

d’Orlando is no stranger to the SuperNats as this would be his 3rd year competing, after he finished last year’s SuperSunday with an impressive sixth place finish in the Cadet category, even after recovering from contact in the pole position in the opening corner.  This will be his first SuperNats in the Junior ranks and this time he is looking to close out his banner rookie Junior campaign with some Vegas magic.

“I am looking forward to racing at SuperNats again this year,” said Nicholas d’Orlando, “but I know the Junior competition is going to be very very tough.   I love competing here in Vegas.  J3 & I believe we have a very competitive program in the X-30 Junior class and my goal is to keep our COMPKART chassis up front as we look to make some magic happen and bring home a strong finish this weekend to end our season on a high note.”
